Lemon Water Benefits

Staying fit requires a real dedication to health. But in addition to staying dedicated, it’s also important to constantly try new things.
This is especially true when it comes to maintaining a healthy weight. Plateaus, or periods where progress seems to stall, are very common during dieting efforts. Your body gets used to the same efforts, whether it’s the same meals or workouts, and stops responding over time.
But your diet is one of the easiest things you can change up on a regular basis!
If you’re striving to maintain a healthy weight or burn off some excess fat, you should be thinking about foods that boost your metabolism.
Many foods naturally boost your metabolism (your body’s ability to burn fat) simply because they take longer to digest. Foods like protein and fiber, for example, stay in your stomach longer and will have a greater overall impact on your fat-burning potential.
Other foods have natural metabolism-boosting properties depending on their particular ingredients or composition. Foods that are hot or spicy, like cayenne pepper, are thermogenic (heat producing) and will boost your metabolism this way. Additional foods that behave in this way include garlic, ginger, hot peppers, vinegar, apple cider, and vegetables like broccoli and cabbage. Adding these foods to your diet can totally help improve your weight loss and fat burning efforts, and get you closer to your fitness goals!
One of the best thermogenic foods you can add to your diet today is lemon water!
Lemon water benefits should not be understated when it comes to helping you burn fat and lose more weight. Lemon water is literally one of the simplest additions to a healthy diet that you can find, and it’s extremely inexpensive.
I recommend having a glass of lemon water every morning to jump start your metabolism. Just squeeze half of a lemon into a 6-8 oz. glass of water, and enjoy. In addition to its thermogenic properties, lemons also act as a natural detox, so you’ll keep your system running at its best!
Lemon juice is also effective for controlling your blood sugar levels and keeping your cravings in check. Just a little lemon juice, even added to tea or a salad, will help control your cravings. It’s a natural appetite suppressant, so it’s great all around!
This is always one of my first dietary recommendations I make to all my clients, and the feedback I get is always pretty impressive. After all, if you can do something this easy to help you with your weight loss and training efforts, why wouldn’t you?

Another one of my top picks for fat loss is matcha green tea. It has many of the same properties as lemon water – it helps control cravings, suppresses your appetite, and increases your ability to burn fat. But in addition to these benefits, matcha green tea also gives you a good boost of energy without the jitters that often come with caffeine.
